How to Create Stylish Outfits From Your Existing Wardrobe.

Good Morning dolls! It's a bit chilly outside so be sure to grab your favorite overcoat before you begin your day. Yesterday was a busy day for FB. I spent the day in Asheville styling a photo-shoot for Paul Lane. Super cool guy and so creative! Better yet, the model who I styled was my best friend! Talk about a fun day of work! I can not wait to show you lovelies the pictures. Anyway, Enough about me, let's get back to business!

For today, I want to share how you can get inspired to create new outfits from your existing wardrobe. As women, we all have those moments where we are puzzled looking at the vast collection of clothes in our closet. What's the first thing that comes to mind? "I have nothing to wear!" You look at your watch and realize you have ten minutes to get to work. Frantically, you grab the first dress you can put your hands on along with your trusty pair of heels or flats and run out the door. Brushing the sweeps of hair out of your face you feel like something is missing...

Ladies, I know it can be a bit overwhelming when it comes to conquering the stresses of your closet. You have no idea how to create a stylish and trendy outfit. Some of you want to avoid outfit repeating.  Well, FB is to the rescue! To my overwhelmed ladies and anti-outfit repeaters, after these tips you are going to be ready to declare victory over  your closet.

Here are a few helpful tips to help you win this fashion battle:

1. Clean out your closet.

Yes, cleaning! I know, I know. Not the way you wanted to start. But, cleaning can be an easy way to clear up the frustration and clutter in your closet. You want an organized closet so you can easily create those stylish and trendy outfits. If you can work with an organized mess then by all means do you! To my type A ladies, you will definitely want to start with a good clean sweep of the oldies and make room for the newbies. Side note: Separating your clothes by season is a huge help!

2.  Let's do a little inventory.

While you are cleaning your closet, I suggest that you take note of what you already have. If you have five of the same sweaters in different colors narrow it down to a minimum of two sweaters. Give the rest to a store that will buy and sell your gently used clothes. If you are taking inventory of what you already own you are opening up so many door for creativity and inspiration!

3. Stay up to date on the latest fashion trends.

How do I stay in the know when it comes to fashion!? Let me tell you. Start reading the latest issues of  my favorite Fash magz. Some of my favorites are Teen Vogue/Vogue, Marie Claire, and Elle. You can also subscribe to your favorite store's emailing list. These fashion publications will light your fashion creativity on fire and you will be a modern fashionista!

4. Let's Get Creative!

For inspiration I have created a fashion board in my room. Whenever I'm obsessed with an outfit, I have created, I will take a picture of it and put it on my fashion board. I will also cut out magazine clippings and add them to my fashion board. And let's talk about my favorite site that has EVERYTHING!  Pinterest, Pinterest, Pinterest! Oh how I love Pinterest! Ladies, this is a great way to create your own fashion board to relate to your own individual style. Fashion is all about creativity and your own individuality! So, let the creativity begin!

5. Layering and Accessorizing. (Outfit repeating)

ATTENTION anti-outfit repeaters this little bit is for you.
A lot of us are concerned when it comes to fashioning a public uproar of outfit repeating! Here’s the thing, you have made an investment into purchasing your clothes so it is okay to wear the same thing again. You just need to be mindful of your spectators. Wear your “repeats” when you’ll be in a different environment. For example; work, family, or friends. These are all very different groups and you can feel comfortable repeating when you are in a different setting with different people. For example, transitioning from day to night. Wear your favorite blazer on Saturday for  GNO with your gal pals and for work on Wednesday. If you are feeling sassy, you can add a chunky necklace to spice it up. I would avoid repeating the same outfit once per week. That will get very old and people will start to notice. In order of tiring the same ole’ outfit. Get Creative! If you find yourself navigating towards your favorite dress, again, pair it with a blazer or leather jacket to add some edge. You can also wear the blazer for a day look and switch to a leather jacket for night. Instead of carrying the same messenger bag, change it out with a colorful clutch. It’s all about those accessories or layering pieces. They will save you from re-creating the same outfit and transform it into a new one!

6. New Wardrobe, New Attitude.

If you have followed all of the steps above, you are ready to take on the world with your new wardrobe along with a brand new attitude! Be fierce, confident, and own your style! Let this be your motivation, "People will stare, make it worth their while." -Harry Winston

Listen to Sir Harry my lovelies. I trust you will follow through with these tips. Stay fab dolls.
